Quality-driven Nordautomation has its eyes set on growth
WINDS OF CHANGE are blowing at log handling specialist Nordautomation – luckily, these winds are fresh growth-bringing breezes. In 2018, a majority stake of the company was sold to the Swedish Addtech group, and in 2019, Timo Kuusisto stepped in as the Managing Director to follow business owner and innovator Pauli Ojala. Despite the changes, Nordautomation’s business remains intact: the leading Nordic supplier of log handling systems still manufactures all of its robust, highquality equipment and the customer is always number one.
“The backbone of our business is the quality and durability of our machines and good customer service. Our equipment is the Mercedes-Benz of the industry and we never abandon our customers when they need us”, says Kuusisto.
AT NORDAUTOMATION’S locations in Kristiinankaupunki, Alajärvi and Nyland, Sweden, there is a strong belief in the future, which is shared by the new owner Addtech. The aim is to grow, and large investments have been made in environmentally friendly equipment in the production. Sustainability is on group level a key focus in 2020. The coming year looks promising and eyes are seton growing the business also in markets outside Finland and Scandinavia.
AS A LEADER, the new Managing Director Timo Kuusisto is open-minded, approachable, entrepre-neurial and humble, and likes to lead his troops from the front. To Nordautomation he brings new perspectives from his multi-national corporate background and decades of experience in international technology export. Kuusisto says, however, that his short time at Nordautomation has already given him a lot:
“I’ve travelled the globe for 30 years but have never seen much of Finland. Over the past 5 months I’ve visited more places in Finland than ever before, and I’ve come to realise what a beautiful country we live in. I’ve also learned more about the forest industry – this is such an interesting industry to be in!”
