It all started with a simple idea: if the tools don’t exist, we should build them. In 1975, four ambitious technicians set out to create the calibration equipment they needed – and with that, Beamex was born. Today, Beamex is celebrating five decades of calibration expertise.

“Innovation has always been central in what we do. Our technology supports industries that need both cutting-edge solutions and proven reliability, from trailblazers to the sectors that must proceed more cautiously”, says CEO Jan-Henrik Svensson.

To commemorate this special year, Beamex is planning a global gathering in Jakostab, where employees from all 12 international offices will join to reflect on the journey so far.

“It’s a unique opportunity to bring our entire team together. This celebration not only marks 50 years of growth but also reinforces Beamex’s dedication to building a united, innovative future”, adds Monica Kruger, Marketing Manager, Brand and Communications.

The core purpose of Beamex is to create a safer and less uncertain world through trustworthy measurements. Beamex supplies global industries with calibration hardware, software, and services.

“Accurate measurements are the foundation of trust in countless sectors. Whether it’s the water you drink, the medicine you take or the amount of fuel you fill in your car, Beamex’s technology ensures the reliability behind the scenes”, Svensson explains.

Beamex’s brand is built on trust, precision, and continuous innovation. Maintaining the customer’s trust requires a constant commitment.

“Our brand is crucial; Beamex’s clients rely on the company’s tools to deliver accurate, traceable measurements without error. From that point of view, you need to be well-known in order to be trusted”, says Svensson.

“Reaching 50 years is a testament to the strength of our brand, which goes far beyond just products. This milestone reflects Beamex’s journey as a trusted partner in calibration, with a reputation that has been carefully cultivated over decades”, adds Kruger.

In addition to Beamex’s 50-year legacy, the company also celebrates the milestone of surpassing 300 employees.

Employees are at the core of the company’s success. From the start, Beamex has focused on hiring motivated people, even though few new recruits come in with calibration experience.

“Calibration is a niche field, and it’s rare for someone to join with prior knowledge. But that doesn’t matter, our people learn quickly and become fascinated in the field”, says Tina Ademola, HR Director, People and Culture.

Maintaining a skilled, committed workforce is crucial in such a niche industry.

“Keeping our employees happy means they want to stay with us and grow their specialised knowledge”, Ademola adds.

This employee-focused approach has earned Beamex four consecutive Future Workplace certifications and consistently high marks in annual employee surveys. In addition to its 50th anniversary, Beamex is celebrating another milestone: crossing the 300-employee milestone.

Sustainability has been embedded in the company’s philosophy for decades. From emissions monitoring to energy consumption, Beamex’s calibration technology plays a key role in helping clients meet strict environmental regulations.

“The company’s durable hardware and software are engineered to accommodate evolving industry needs without frequent replacements. Modular solutions allow clients to add features as needed and to use our technology for a long time”, says Svensson.

In its own operations, Beamex has embraced sustainable practices by using renewable energy and ensuring the recyclability of their products. The company adheres to strict internal standards, while also meeting external sustainability criteria, such as EcoVadis ratings and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

As Beamex looks to the future, its approach remains rooted in anticipating industry needs and driving innovation. In an era where developments in AI, sustainability, and technology are reshaping industries faster than ever, Beamex remains committed to anticipating trends and leading the charge.

“Before passing away, one of Beamex’s founders left me with a thought that still shapes us today: true success comes from never losing sight of what lies just around the corner. The corner comes faster now, sometimes within six months to a year. But with a clear focus on our purpose, we’re prepared for whatever comes next”, Svensson says.

This readiness to embrace new challenges will guide Beamex as it moves into the next 50 years.
