2017 was a milestone year for Solving as the company celebrated 40 successful years in business. From its formation in 1977 the company operated solely within the Finnish market but that quickly changed as Solving developed more sophisticated and automated systems. Today, the company operates with the entire world as its market.
Solving’s speciality is creating truly tailored solutions to suit each customer’s unique handling requirements, from the design of a simple mover to integrated lifting systems and complex interface equipment.

”As part of Solving’s agreement with Airbus, we are now producing two more wheeled movers for their factory in Bremen”, says Peter Björk, pictured here together with Anders Björk, Robin Segervall and Mathias Enell, all members of Solving’s after sales team.

“During these four decades we have created and installed handling systems for the most complex and challenging applications in various industries all around the world. Our products are found in a very diverse range of applications; revolving stages in theatres, paper handling systems in paper mills and printing houses, an air film mover integrated into the manufacture of fuel tanks for NASA, and even equine tables for x-raying horses,” says Peter Björk, Managing Director.
Since 2011, Solving has had an agreement with Airbus leading to the installation of a variety of handling equipment at their factories in Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain.
“We recently also delivered two systems to the Cartulina paper industry in Chile; a unique laser operated automated handling system that moves carton pallets, and a system that is able to move rolls weighing up to 60 tons, all without any interruption in production.”

“For us each project starts from the very first discussion with the customer, and the cooperation continues until the equipment has been commissioned and approved. Our commitment does not end there and we remain available throughout our products’ lifecycles. Today the customer needs to be able to rely on the supplier for a complete aftersales service and support network. We have also paid a lot of attention to preventive maintenance services that extend the working life of our products,” says Björk.
To ensure the best service, Solving and its subsidiary Fluid-Bag are focusing on service centres around the world to extend their local presence.
“It’s not acceptable for a production line that is supposed to operate 24/7 to stand still. With our service and support personnel close by, we guarantee that our product will continue to work. This is a challenge for a small company on the global market, but for us, it is also a question of commitment to quality.”
