Bringing together a network of 1,000 experts from 80 countries, Wasa Innovation Center (WIC) educates companies and organisations of all sizes and helps them develop and execute innovations. Even though WIC was established in 2019, it has already taken part in creating multiple significant regional and global solutions as well as accelerated innovation in both private and public sectors.

According to Sture Udd, the founder of WIC, innovation is often about gathering and analysing massive amounts of data that, for example, different sensors automatically collect. This is what allows professionals to create pioneering solutions. At WIC, grasping the real market value of an innovation and gathering knowledge about the competition has a key role.

“We help organisations determine if the time is right for their innovation to enter the market, and what would its contribution and actual market value be. Timing is often more important than technological potential”, says Udd.

WIC also creates and finds ecosystems for organisations as well as examines what kind of economic value operating in an ecosystem would bring to them. Udd thinks that organisations should always be part of an ecosystem or a value chain.

With its gorgeous architecture, Wasa Innovation Center offers an inspiring environment for innovation.

“‘If you want to go fast – go alone, if you want to go far – go together’, as the clever saying goes. With our help, organisations can find and strengthen their role in value chains. Belonging in a network allows them to properly evolve and innovate.”

However, WIC does not exist solely for innovators.

“While you have to know your innovation’s market value, you also have to know where your company would be without innovation. This is something we analyse here, too.”

Combining modern technologies with modern economics is at the forefront of WIC’s operations.

“If you combine modern export industry policies with logistics and net zero energy solutions, you end up at a new level of society. And if you combine your food intake data with your genome data while sensoring your metabolism and physical activity, you end up with much more accurate healthcare solutions. These two are now in focus at WIC.”
