In recent years, the volatility of the energy market has left both consumers and businesses searching for more efficient ways to manage their energy usage. Herrfors, an energy provider based in Jakobstad, is focused on delivering practical solutions that help customers navigate this complex landscape. With a transmission area from Vöyri to Ylivieska, Herrfors offers a wide range of energy services, such as electricity sales, district heating, and solar panels.

One of the company’s recent developments is a smart application that allows consumers to optimise their electricity usage. No extra equipment is needed, the app does the job.

“For example, the app enables customers to automatically charge their electric vehicles during off-peak times, when prices are lowest. This is particularly useful for customers on spot electricity contracts, where real-time pricing can offer significant savings”, explains Johanna Övergaard, Sales Director at Herrfors.

The app also offers personalized tips to optimize electricity use based on users’ history. Customers have praised the app’s ease of use and its ability to show both financial and environmental benefits.

“With our app, customers can review and plan their usage, empowering them to make informed decisions that not only lower their energy costs but also analyse their carbon footprint”, Övergaard points out.

Herrfors is also involved in infrastructure projects that will enhance Finland’s energy grid. The company is developing an electric boiler in Ylivieska and an energy storage facility in Oravais, both of which are expected to stabilise the grid during periods of fluctuating energy supply. These projects will contribute to Finland’s broader efforts to integrate more renewable energy into the national grid.

“As energy production becomes more weather-dependent, the need for reserve capacity grows. Herrfors guarantees reliable, adaptable energy solutions that offer stability and sustainability in an ever-changing market”, Övergaard says.
