Scandic Trans offers efficient logistics services, all under one roof
In the fast-paced world of logistics, Scandic Trans stands out as a bold example of what local operators can achieve. The company was founded in 1990 by a group of Finnish transport entrepreneurs with a simple idea – taking control of their own routes.
“It all started with a desire to be in the driving seat, deciding how, when, and where we operate. Over the years our business has grown, but we’ve stayed true to our foundation,” says CEO Mikael Löfqvist.
As Scandic Trans grows, so does its infrastructure. The company is building a state-of-the-art logistics centre in Mustasaari, designed to provide a comprehensive range of logistics services under one roof. The company has already secured Hartwall as its first tenant, with more expected to follow.
“At our new facility we will be able to provide office spaces as well as loading, warehousing, and distribution. Essentially, we are creating a logistics hub where entrepreneurs and businesses can come together and collaborate”, Löfqvist describes.

The project was designed with sustainability in mind. Scandic Trans has installed geothermal heating for the entire building and plans to install solar panels across the warehouse roof. In addition, Scandic Trans is exploring ways to capture and store solar energy for later use.
Sustainability is a guiding principle across all Scandic Trans operations, and the company has ambitious aims for carbon neutrality by 2035. Recently, a key milestone was reached in collaboration with Orkla and Viking Line. Introducing liquefied biogas as fuel for the sea routes, emissions have been reduced by 90% compared to traditional methods.
Orkla, a leading producer of consumer goods in Scandinavia, relies on Scandic Trans for all its deliveries to Finland.
“Scandic Trans has offered hydrotreated vegetable oil diesel transports for several years, but with the addition of liquified biogas as fuel for the sea freight portion of our transport chain, the environmental benefits are tremendous”, explains Löfqvist
