2024 was the best year in Ekeri’s history – now the goals are set even higher
In 2023, Ekeri reached two big milestones by manufacturing a record number of 780 trailer units and achieving 100 million euros in sales for the first time ever. The growth continued in 2024, when the number of manufactured units rose to over 800 – and the company is not stopping here.
“Ekeri aims to manufacture even more trailer units in the future and be the preferred supplier of sustainable solutions in our sector. We are also striving to increase our market share especially in Finland, Sweden, and Norway”, says Managing Director Christian Sundqvist.
To enable further growth, Ekeri has invested in welding robots and a new, fully automated painting facility.
“We have been painting 18 trailer units per week by hand, but the new facility and its painting robots allow us to double that amount. Additionally, the separate drying room will speed up the painting process even more.”
Sundqvist points out that automation not only makes production more efficient, but also more sustainable. The robots reduce both paint and energy consumption as a result of advanced optimisation.
“We follow the principles set by the GHG Protocol. Our factory is already completely carbon-neutral, and we have no emissions in the first two scopes. Ekeri’s indirect value chain emissions in the third scope have also been calculated – we are now focusing on reducing them as much as possible”, Sundqvist states.

Ekeri is a large employer in the small municipality of Pedersöre where its factory is located. There, Ekeri has 300 employees, while 50 more work at the company’s other units in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Latvia.
“It is thanks to all our professionals that we have been able to reach such huge milestones in the past few years”, Sundqvist says.
Despite the Pedersöre factory’s location, Ekeri receives a lot of job applications. Recently, it has recruited a significant number of international employees from 21 countries.
“Not only do people want to work at Ekeri, but they also often stay here for a long time. On average, our employees work at the Pedersöre factory for 10 years.”
