Machtech is quickly growing in metal components
In the metal and plastics industries, family-owned Österberg Group is known for quality and service, but also for its consistent growth and acquisitions over the past few decades. The group’s first company was founded in 1948 by Knut Österberg in Ostrobothnia, and today, Österberg Group comprises twelve companies based in Finland, Sweden, and Estonia. One of its subsidiaries is Machtech, one of Sweden’s fastest growing lego workshops in metal components.
Just as Österberg Group, Machtech, a company stemming from a distinguished industrial heritage in its hometown Örnsköldsvik, is rapidly growing. As a subcontractor, it serves its customers with cost-efficient and sustainable solutions for metal components, tailored to the specific needs of its clients. For Machtech, the defence industry has become an important customer sector, which due to the geopolitical situation keeps on growing. To keep up with the demand, Machtech has recently invested in new high-tech machinery: large-scale lathes, milling machines and measuring equipment.
“Modern equipment is key in our industry, and as a subcontractor it allows us to offer all-encompassing deliveries. Manufacturing is our core competence, and through our knowhow, we can support our customers in creating smarter and more cost-efficient solutions for their products. Great collaboration with our customers not only creates better products, but a nicer work environment for everyone”, says Pelle Bergström, CEO of Machtech.
Matias Österberg, the CEO of Machtech’s parent company Wel-Mach, notes that Machtech’s rapid growth comes, not only from its investments, but from its most valuable asset: a great and motivated personnel. Since 2016, Machtech has increased its turnover from 20 million Swedish crowns to 140 million, and now the company has already set its sight on its next turnover goal – 200 million crowns by 2026. Bergström and Österberg are certain Machtech will reach this goal:
“There’s no going back, the number has already been embroidered on our company baseball caps!”
