Käyttöauto is responding to the growing demand for electric vehicles
As drivers in Finland are increasingly turning to electric vehicles, Käyttöauto is helping its customers navigate this transition. Operating in 12 locations across ten municipalities, the company deals with a wide range of both new and used cars. Currently, fully electric vehicles account for a third of new car sales at Käyttöauto – a trend the company is paying close attention to.
“We are witnessing a growing interest in electric vehicles. With stringent EU emission targets pushing manufacturers towards more eco-friendly solutions, we are able to offer our customers an expanding selection of electric options”, says Henrik Pohjus, CFO of Käyttöauto.
Finland is already ahead in the adoption of electric vehicles compared to many other European nations. This progress does not show signs of slowing down – according to an industry forecast, approximately 70% of new passenger vehicle registrations in Finland will be fully electric by 2030. Charging infrastructure, once a major concern, has also rapidly improved.
“We receive many questions about charging, especially from those considering their first electric car. However, as they experience the ease of charging and see the growing network of stations, these concerns are diminishing”, Pohjus notes.
Käyttöauto’s commitment to sustainability is not only reflected in its car selection, but also embedded in the company’s operations. Käyttöauto is currently engaged in a sustainability reporting process, setting long-term goals to reduce its environmental footprint.
“At Käyttöauto, we use electric vehicles for business travel, utilise solar panels at almost all our locations to support our energy usage, and prioritise the repair and reuse of parts in our body shop operations to reduce waste. We always consider the environmental impact of our actions. And frankly, sustainable choices often turn out to be more cost-effective in the long run,” Pohjus points out.
