A piece of Finland

Reindeer herding is a traditional livelihood for arctic peoples, and a small number of Finns still get their income from it. For lifestyle company Gedigo, the half wild reindeer that grazes freely in the fells is both raw material and a source of inspiration, as many of their lifestyle products are made of reindeer leather.

Reindeer leather has traditionally been used in local crafts. Because it’s soft, but also strong and durable, it’s perfect for products that need to both last and look aesthetically pleasing.
Gedigo’s philosophy represents our time – the company trusts craftsmanship and natural work processes. Even though they’re based in Kokkola, an area which has a long tradition in manufacturing leather products, their unique products are exported all over the world.
