The success of the Napue Gin has exceeded all expectations, especially considering that the company was originally founded as a whisky distillery and not a gin distillery. However, rye-based whisky takes three years to mature into its full flavour and the five entrepreneurs weren’t just going to sit around that long. Instead, they decided to utilize their time, thus creating their second product – the gin – by chance.

The success of Napue Gin has of course grown the distillery’s reputation and placed high expectations for the rye whisky as well. The first batch of Juuri whisky was in such great demand in 2017 that people were lining up to get their hands on it – and not everyone did. The distillery is constantly bottling new batches, but they’re selling out fast. A larger batch can be expected to be ready in a couple of years.
